Starting off a small youtube/streaming channel

I have recently began to try and grow a small youtube channel where I often stream my gameplay and try to take highlights of the games for short videos but it seems to be falling on deaf ears and not getting many views, is there anyone out there with a small or previously small channel that has any advice on how to grow a channel?
