: Hey Riot, quick question.
If you're basing your MMR off an external site like it's inaccurate
: Do not put money into this game.
Don't tell me how to live my life
: Which rioter :o Also think how much this could be absused, say you are 0-20 in early game no hope at all, you or your duo partner afk so the other members don’t lose as much LP (CP) resulting in a huge upswing of the ranked ladder. All factors aside pretty sure this will increase afk
I posted this same thread on the NA boards and a few people suggested that the AFKer takes the LP penalty. So if everyone else in game loses 5LP less than normal, the AFKer takes that extra 20LP loss on top of their normal loss, effectively doubling the penalty. To me that seems a bit harsh but it would go a ways to deterring the intentional AFKers.

: can someone help me plssss
Ok first off, improve your CS. Not trolling here, but if you can consistently get it up above 6cs/min (which you've only done once in your last 11 games, not including jungle games) you'll find you reach your power spikes quicker, so you'll be less likely to be shit. Just generally (without seeing you play), learn when to trade and when not to trade with the common matchups you get in your lane. In a nutshell, if you can deal more damage than you take, or if you can make them burn resources/escapes/potions/summoner spells, it's a good trade. If it's not any of those things or you burn anything, it's a bad trade. In terms of champion specific mechanics, watch streamers who play those champs. Pay attention to how they trade, how they position, when they choose to engage and when they play safe, where and when they ward, what items they buy and in which order (and how that changes depending on matchup). Try to do what they do as best as you can without overextending past your mechanical ability, and you'll improve. Also realise that sometimes you get losing streaks. Take them on the chin and enjoy the win streaks when they come around.
: Actually i said "hahah that's gay" and gay meaning- light-hearted and carefree. Example- "Nan had a gay disposition and a very pretty face" but i guess each to their own right?
I don't think anybody has used it in that context since the 1930s

: I really wish that Riot gives us Blue Essence in some way, other than just leveling up. Currently Riot gives us Project Missions, and once we complete it, we get Project icon, and inside the Project icon, you will see Blue Essence, earn tokens by completing missions, and exchange them for Blue Essence, 1 token gives 20 Blue Essence. But even with this way, you won't get as much Blue Essence anyway, They also give 50 Blue Essence for First Win of the Day, but it does not help much, you still have a long way to go to get enough Blue Essence. If Riot can give us straight up Blue Essence for completing missions, and if they give us missions that would grant us tokens, and if they can increase the amount of Blue Essence per token (like 150-200 Blue Essence per token) would be sufficient, also, giving us missions that would earn us even more tokens like 24-32 tokens, would be good idea too.

Project missions give you 96 tokens. Working off 150-200 BE per token would give you 14-19k BE, which is way too much. Not saying it's a bad idea but you might want to reconsider those numbers.

: don't get me wrong, in this day and age that word shouldn't be used and fair enough but a chat restriction for first time offenders should be issued not given a 14 day suspension only because the next penalty is a perma ban. and also if they want to get technical, a %%%got is also a definition of a bundle of sticks so get the bans right. sick of being told I'm boosted or trash or get cancer and what ever then I say something as small as this and I'm fucked right after it and that toxic fuck wit of a person is still playing the game feeding his ass off
Nobody is using it in the context of a pile of sticks, so stop trying that one on. It's being used in reference to homosexuality and in a negative, derogatory way. Maybe instead of telling Riot to grow up, you could try not acting like a whiny little child and have the maturity to not use the word.

Doesnt mean they have to be a bitch under their tower the whole game
Because it's a much better idea for them to run out into lane and die?
: Where are the OPL Finals being held this split?
My understanding is that the money they spent on the OPL finals last year was redirected to help each team get into their own gaming houses this year, so there wouldn't be a live event final.

Step 1 to beating Darius: Stop playing Nasus.
: Recommend me a champ?
Play Ekko. He's fairly low-floor high-ceiling skillwise and you can make some pretty sweet looking plays with him once you get the hang of it. Also versatile enough to be top/mid/jg.
: What to do if you get permanently suspended
If you were permabanned for something you did, you won't get it back. That's kind of the idea of permanent bans. If someone hacked your account or you believe you were wrongfully punished, you can submit a ticket to Riot Support.
: Akali Getting A S or S+
Most of your games you seem to be averaging under 5cs/min. Get that up above 6 consistently and you should pick more up. Also maybe stop getting 9 deaths in a game, that will help too.
: Supports
Meta is definitely tanky at the moment. In the OPL last week there were only two support picks that weren't tanky - Destiny took Zyra and Cupcake played Bard. Thresh, Braum and Rakan seem to be getting a fair bit of priority at the moment. Ali starting to come back into it too. They're tanky supports with good CC and decent engage, and teams seem to be prioritising that style of champ.
: AMA Legacy Esports! 6-7PM AEST!
**Carbon** - how different is it being in a pro team now compared to when you first started? Obviously the gaming houses make a massive difference, but in terms of how your week works, what you do outside of playing League and just in general, is it a whole different world? **Tally** - your Master Yi from last season is probably still my favorite pick I've seen in the OPL. Any more borderline troll picks up your sleeve? **Claire** - Assassins or Mages? And why? **Lost & Cupcake** - why do you two seem to work so well together? Or I guess a better question is what do you think makes for good duo lane synergy? **Babip** - pretend the rest of the team didn't see this. If you could take one of their places, who would you boot out? **Soulstrikes** - what's your post-match ritual? Do you have certain standards in place for how long you wait til after the game to review it? And what do you think is more important to get right - your picks or your bans? #LGCWIN
: Depends on who you are. There 81 champs who can't just 'hop a wall', even with their ult. So chances are, you probably won't be someone with that function. What do you do now?
I'm not suggesting every single champ should be able to escape from Singed every time. But if you're going up against a Singed it's a pretty surefire way to get away from him.

: Good advice, except he's so fast with his ult/ghost/items/rylais/W slow, _(and now his new passive.)_ that no matter which direction you run, he positions himself in front of you. It used to be a choice, if you chased singed, you died. Now its his choice.
Hop a wall. Problem solved.

: so who would be a good counter pick for tryndamere? in that case, I actually play tryndamere already since he's so good at pushing towers
Poppy is a good counter. Her W blocks his Q and if tries to dive and ult you, just ult him back. In fact it's pretty hard to lose lane as Poppy at the moment, but she's not the most effective tank in team fights.

: Honour Pls
It's been out for, what, a month? I don't imagine they created it so that you could climb to the top in a matter of a few months.
Ninox (OCE)
: As much as I think everyone would like it, I think they want to keep it a bit more ambiguous than that. There's not real harm in showing regular players a progress bar, but from Riot's perspective, knowing you aren't close to dropping an honour level removes the incentive to remain positive that honour brings to the less positive/neutral members of the community. If you know that you have a safety net of sorts before negative behaviour will put you in any real danger of losing an honour rank, you're less likely to develop positive behaviour as a habit, and more likely to just dodge that rank drop. Of course, those that see punishments will have their honour removed entirely, but for the petty and inconsistent toxics that are little more than annoying, they're unlikely to see those punishments, so honour is how Riot communicates that their behaviour isn't great.
It's actually genius in its simplicity. If you give people something measurable, something they can track their progress on, they'll act more directly towards a result. If you keep it ambiguous and with no way of knowing how you're faring, you're more likely to be more consistent in your behavior to try and attain this unknown standard.

Rioter Comments
: Personally and this is just my option. OCE will never be a competitive sever. For the simple fact we lack the ability to scrim with better teams. To put this simply oce will never do well internationally, we lack the money that all the top severs do and we lack the raw talent that they have. oce will stay near the bottom and we are never leaving there.
If you think the only things stopping us from being competitive are that we don't scrim with better teams and we don't have the infrastructure in place, those both seem like things that have fairly straightforward solutions. I think over the course of the next 12-18 months, eSports is going to explode in Australia. Already there's a lot of discussion around what the next big investment for the Australian economy will be - mining is on its last legs and tourism is something that doesn't pay off immediately, so an industry like eSports is in a prime position to benefit from that hole.

Not just the legendaries either (though how you forgot Elementalist Lux from that list I'll never know). Moo Cow Alistar was bloody brilliant. Expanding the Blood Moon and Dark Star lines, the Dragon skins for Zyra and Xin - there's been so many great new skins coming out for me to send myself broke with.

: Oce 2017 grand final
I read something a while back that said with what they spent doing up the Riot studios in Sydney to support LAN matches every week, it meant they weren't going to be able to go all out for the Grand Final like they have previously. Don't quote me on this, but I think it'll be in the Sydney studios but probably with a live audience, similar to how they're doing League of Origin.
: My family is full of people who are heavily involved in sports. My dad is a football coach and mum teaches swimming, we also have a family memeber who owns a soccer team! Do you know why they think it won't benefit the league? I would love to hear that side of the argument! It think it's fantastic! I can't wait to see what the Crows will bring to the table in eSports and I'm excited to see which professional sporting team will follow next.
One of the main arguments that's popped up (shameless plug incoming) on the Summoner's Society Facebook group is along the lines of it creating more of a divide between the teams with money and the teams without. As an example - "One of the great things about esports has been that anyone could make a team and with a bit of sponsoring get reasonably far. This is going to kill the competition by strangling out teams like I described and we'll only see ppl who get money pumped into them and who aren't necessarily the best talent or good at the game. When sports/esports are run like businesses we all lose" I don't agree with that but can see the merit behind the argument.
: Hello! I am Matthew 'Fish' Stewart, Shoutcaster for the OPL - Ask Me Anything!
What up big Fish. Would love to get your take on the Adelaide Crows buying Legacy situation. Have seen plenty of people commenting since it went down about how they don't think it'll benefit the league as a whole. I'm more of the mind that more funding for pro teams can only be a good thing? Also go NSW etc

: perth based players
There's a Facebook page dedicated to WA players - called League of Legends Perth n' WA Has about 1200 members in it. You can probably find some people to team up with there.
Just looking at your match history, in your last 5 ranked matches your direct lane opponent went: 13/7/4 10/2/11 18/6/4 17/0/2 10/2/0 In those games you also had an average cs/min of 4.3 I'm not saying these losses are your fault, but I'm thinking you might want to review your own performance before just blaming your team.
: Was Heimerdinger used in MSI?
He hasn't been picked anywhere internationally as far as I'm aware. Hjarnan plays him a bit in EU but even he doesn't seem to bust him out in EULCS or anything. He's traditionally good into tanks early because he just bullies the living hell out of them when they try to farm but I've had games where I was 0/4 into him as a Poppy and he's ended up like 4/15 because once you get a bit of tankiness he's just got nothing to get you with. Riot have hinted that Heimer's getting some changes in patch 7.10 so if anything you'll probably see a spike in his annoying af mini turrets.

: Should i have to play a game im being flamed in?
It's a tough call, and even though my first suggestion is to use the mute button, I know it's not always that simple. My thought is that if you decide to leave, you're making it even worse for the rest of the people in your game. Not just because that other person is flaming and generally (I assume) being a dick, but because suddenly it's a 4v5 and tbh I don't think either team really enjoys that. Look at it this way - if you're tilted, and instead of enjoying the game you're just getting angrier at yourself, should you be able to leave? Would it be OK to ragequit? Absolutely not. It's part of the reason the surrender function is a good thing - and yes, I know he can just vote no - but it gives you a chance to end the game early without ruining the experience for anyone else.

: I actually read your entire response. You completely missed my point. You are opposing I cannot express my verbal free will. It might even be a generalised observation that you call someone trash. The question is, who are you or any other person in this world to tell me what I can and cannot say. You even have a mute future embedded into your client but you take it on your stride to report someone because you're a BETA-male (Basically an emotional little bitch). We survived thousands of years to become some form of subhuman emotional trash. A truly pathetic herd. It really worries me how feminine men are nowadays, cannot even tolerate a bit of smack competitive talk. And lets pretend someone tells you to self harm, why is that toxic? You have the choice to do it, nobody is making you. Are we humans truly that pathetic that words upset you THAT much? Someone could say the worst of the worst things about me and my family and I wouldn't care.... Why? Because I DON'T care. I'm not some pathetic little mental patient who needs validation and emotional hand holding online. Get a grip on reality, mate.

It might even be a generalised observation that you call someone trash. The question is, who are you or any other person in this world to tell me what I can and cannot say. If you're going to try and hide behind Freedom of Expression, let's just take a moment to clarify something here. Under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (which the Australian Human Rights Commission upholds), _**everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers**_. In a nutshell, it means you're entitled to an opinion. Nobody can take that from you, and nobody can stop you expressing it. What it doesn't mean is that you have a right to be a dick. It doesn't mean anybody needs to respect your opinion. And for someone whose original post was calling on everyone else to be an intelligent adult, you're certainly taking a childish approach here. This is not really about freedom of speech — it's about you desire to say things about specific groups of people, while at the same time refusing to allow them to respond. It says a great deal about your lack of maturity when you demand the right to say whatever you like, but at the same time demand no-one should be able to answer back. While not everyone can express (or even understand) what it means to feel empathy, it's not hard to learn to be considerate. There's one simple step - just don't be a dick. You're saying verbal abuse is something people choose to tolerate. Under that same vein of thought, being abusive is something you choose to embody. You've made a conscious decision to be a dick to other people, and then decided you have a right to get upset when other people are upset by it? That's a right you don't have. Others do have a right to tell you what you can and can't say. It's why we have defamation laws and discrimination laws. It's why every workplace in Australia has anti-bullying and harassment policies. It's why cyberbullying is actually a crime. Those laws tells us that you don't get to tell people that if they don't want to be insulted they should stay off the internet, or not play League. And no, it's not a denial of your freedom of expression, it's just called being a grown-up.
