we can see BigAir players outside of Sydney getting more than 5% packet drop to our game servers. Anything above 1% is noticeable in game and anything above 2% is going to be problematic to play. I suspect there's congestion somewhere on their network. My advice is to log a ticket with BigAir

: It's not just you. Mine's been really laggy and unstable. Sometimes it's fine, around 30-50ms as it should be. Then sometimes it will jump up to 3000. Not ideal in the middle of a game!

: I'm using TPG ADSL2+ in Victoria. I've been pinging 203.174.139.185 for my ping before I start up the game. The traceroute goes through but the issue is that my connection to the servers is not always consistent. Some days will be fine and some days the ping will fluctuate seemingly at random with no correlation to weather or internet use. During this time browsing speeds or other online services/games will perform like normal except for League of Legends. At this moment my ping is fine but I'll try the tracert again when the problem pops up again.

: They refused to actually read the report in question and simply gave me a "blanket" response when it came to "solving" my issue, it had next to nothing to do with the issue i was reporting about, i replied as such and explained my report in a bit more detail, again, it wasn't read properly and it was brought to a player support specialist, once again the details and reasons behind the report were not read properly (as per previous and unrelated experience this happens ALOT) I then asked to speak to the specialist's manager to see if i could actually have contact to someone that would actually read what is being written instead of sending pre-written responses that only infuriate the user by leaving the issue un-solved and ignored completely by the so called support staff. Yes, it is a free game, however there is a certain level of support they need to provide to both free and paying customers if they don't wish to have individuals like the local ombudsman breathing down their necks for negligence on their part, by paying i mean both monetary value in purchases made in the store and in emotional state paid by the infuriating circumstances that follow talking to a support staff who ignores the issue completely. This can be interpreted however, but this isn't the main issue here (the "paying customer", although i have paid for stuff in the store, this was to see if i would actually get a response from a RED or anyone Riot Staff related but it seems they care just about as much as support staff do about reputation and supporting users with issues) Getting the ombudsman involved is simply to be given contact with someone that will actually take into account what is being said instead of reading a single line and then sending pre-written crap as a response under the ruse of support. This would be the last resort if i don't get into contact with anyone prior to losing further patience.
Since I'm not in player Support, I have zero context to comment about your issue. But I can help to get someone to have a look at your ticket. If you have any more constructive feedback, feel free to share that also.

I'm afraid your 85ms from WA is getting close to the best you can get (which is about 80ms). We are peered with iiNet and majority of that latency is because of the sheer distance.

And I don't think packet drops would cause an actual drops in FPS as in the number count displayed in game however I may be wrong. I have submitted a support ticket however I have tried literally everything suggested their with little success, also perhaps I haven't been patient enough but I am still waiting from a reply after relaying the fact that I have tried all of the above. It has only been a day however I thought I would try somewhere else since the original response was a little bit disappointing as it gave me the impression they didn't read a single sentence I posted. Are you sure it's fps drop? It may be issues on the network side (ie packet drops) Both will have similar symptoms If you've done all the instructions from provided, you should tell player support. So they can move on to the next steps. The standard template answer solves 80%-90% of the issues, that why we send them.

If you're playing on OCE then, unfortunately the problem problem lies with your ISP's upstream. They are limited number of sub-sea cables connection Africa to Australia (only one via SE Asia), and when that breaks, you'll get routed via EU. Hence the high pings. Have you tried playing on EUW instead?

From what I've managed to gather the problem is occurring 3 times more frequently for New Zealand based players and in set sequence. (i.e. dependent on your peak and off-peak times). Basically, Riot is either using inferior hardware or has no drive to address a severe programming error and have decided to "resolve" (be it only temporarily) the issue with load-shedding. Periodically and sequentially users are "blocked" by Riot to ensure lower traffic and a better gaming experience for the "unblocked". Sucks to live in NZ. Leaverbuster here we come! Yay!

Yay! Hey there, Just want clarify a few things. We have identified the sudden jump in firewall issues to be related to a few ISPs that NAT player's IPs behind a pool of public IPs. The way IP addresses are translated is causing connectivity issue to our game servers. We are trying to work with those ISPs to work around the issue, but unfortunately there are no clear solutions and require some collaboration between us and the problem ISP. Which ISP are you with? tl;dr This is not a capacity issue, and yes we are working on this.
