: I read something a while back that said with what they spent doing up the Riot studios in Sydney to support LAN matches every week, it meant they weren't going to be able to go all out for the Grand Final like they have previously. Don't quote me on this, but I think it'll be in the Sydney studios but probably with a live audience, similar to how they're doing League of Origin.
Our studio in Sydney is designed specifically for the broadcast that we currently have, and even if we were to renovate the whole thing it's not feasible for us to have an audience in the space we have available. We are constantly looking at options and opportunities for the future, but nothing we can share right now.

: Oce 2017 grand final
Hi! Nijiiyo and Arkangyle have this pretty much covered, but I wanted to offer a bit more of an explanation on our side. For context, I plan the majority of our live events like this (Origin included) and work with our team here to try and make these events the best experience for everyone involved. When we made this decision to scale our grand final back in order to bring pros into a studio - it was about more than moving some money around. We really had to think through what we felt would provide the best experience for viewers and players and prioritise our resources accordingly. Last year, we identified that our grand final was taking up an incredible amount of our resources (people and budget) and the value that players got out of it was pretty short lived for the vast majority of people. So we spent some time thinking about what we could likely accomplish if we decided to not have our grand final to the same level. The result was us identifying that we'd be able to get all of the players centralised into one area, and have them appear on camera every week. There a lot of benefits to this (both for pros and viewers) but it's going to take some time to really see the results from it. I absolutely love events like this and I go to as many of them as I possible can, but for the moment we want to focus on building up a really good foundation around our regular season, and slowly scale our grand final up in a way that allows for both to be possible. We're still working out the details for what our grand final will look like this year and once we do, we'll share them (sometime quite soon I hope). I'd imagine it will be similar scale to League of Origin though. Feel free to DM me on twitter @RiotLoote if you want to chat about event stuff specifically. I might be able to point you towards a few places that are hiring or use volunteers for events and what kind of skillsets are good to learn!

: When/where can we do our predictions??
We're hoping to do something - we have a few things in the works but we aren't 100% certain if we can launch it in time! But we'll have something :).
Avril (OCE)
: Is there going to be a live audience?
No live audience yet - we're focused on getting all the players in a studio and seeing how that goes :).
: So any actual details on say, the donation amount for each one?
Hey! We knew this question would come up, but we can’t talk about specific numbers for charitable donations. I know that sucks, but it’s our policy to keep these confidential. I can guarantee that we donated 100% of the proceeds from the above time period. We’re really happy with the number - it’s going to help a lot of people.

: Would the RSPCA be a possible donation target?
For this particular donation our focus is on the medical field - we did a vote here: http://boards.oce.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/announcements/yHhIOYjO-letos-talk-about-the-server-skin and that was what the community wanted. Animal welfare is also very important, and I'd love to do something in that area at some point. But we haven't solidified any plans past this.
: About time to bring this up again (CR Kassadin.)
Hey everyone - I know there is a lot of discussion going on. I posted an updated on our charity selection here: http://boards.oce.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/announcements/BL2VyFqU-cosmic-reaver-kassadin-charitable-donation-update We are about to hit the holidays, but I'll do my best to make time to answer questions, etc.

Hey Jason! We're still working on identifying what specific organisation we're going to be working with. It's a bit of an involved process as I want to make sure we pick a reputable organisation, the right cause and making sure that we know what the donation is going to impact. Since we haven't done this in Oceania before, we're spending a lot of time researching to make sure we pick the right place. We're working with some experts from our NA office to help guide us on this. We should have a much better update in the near future. This is absolutely something that we're following up on and want to make sure it's done as quickly as possible, but also thoroughly.

: > If you have any questions about any of this please ask them below. I would like to see the charitable donation go to: > 1. An Environmental Cause > 2. Animal Rights > 3. Humanitarian Relief Efforts > 4. Medical Services/Research What if I wish to vote for everything except for the Animal Rights? Don't get me wrong I have no issues with protecting the animals and extincting species. But let's be real, the animal rights protection groups are pretty much always after the ones they think are WORTH protecting, all the other species of fungi, insects and deep sea monster fish are never on their radar. That's why I will never give charity to those people but instead seek someone else like the whatever animals' local authority because they are most likely to actually care. To be honest I don't feel like donating to Humanitarian Relief Efforts either considering it's a group of people that always give others fish but never taught them anything about fishing, which is what I really am not a fan of (because well, if they do there is no more business). **But I digress. Assuming that everything is working as intended, I won't know what to choose because I wanna vote for them all if possible.** _____________ ________________ But yes, this skin really seem to look really nice. I love Kassadin too.
I definitely see what you're saying here. There are certain causes that will always resonate differently with people. We all have our own interests that we want to see taken care of (I'm extremely passionate about Mental Health for example). I definitely recommend that you vote for whichever that you feel most passionately about. We're looking into how we might be able to do other things like this in the future, but we have no solid plans at the moment. We're dedicated to doing a thorough evaluation to any organisation that we're looking to work with. It's important that we not only pick a cause that our players care about - but also an organisation that is operating effectively. We have some experts that we're working with during our evaluation process, and we're going to making sure we work with a responsible group.
Sarutobi (NA)
: While it is nice that you guys will be giving to charity is there a reason why its only server/region based? it just doesnt seem right in my opinion. it should be active on all servers or at the very least a smaller % of the income for the skin in question. As for which I feel like it should be based on what the skin shows. Like if its for an environmental cause have the skin be base within trees, or the earth. Animal rights could use a bunch of animals either with their skills, or splash art, as well as with the others as well.
Hey Sarutobi - thanks for asking this. It's a great question. Each region gets to operate mostly autonomously. So it was our decision to take the proceeds from this skin and put it towards a good cause. I can't speak for other regions. This is something that we as an office wanted to do for our region, as its a skin inspired by our region.
: Everyone's talking about the skin but I'm more concerned that humanitarian relief efforts is the least popular picked.
Hey Sheep! I can definitely understand your concern. We did a decent amount of research looking through which causes resonated most with different demographics and wanted to make sure that we gave everyone a choice. One of them is going to win, which means the others will lose. However, the good news is that it's still going to a good cause. And we're still evaluating other ways that we can contribute to additional causes in the future. Our plans aren't concrete, but it's something I am actively looking at pushing to the next level!

: I hope its Medical Services/Research, I am involved with a charity and noone is paid. I hate when large corporations throw money to those with paid staff such as a sales/marketing. Be blown away how many medical service charities help 1,000s every year off grants totaling under 120k, while mega ones help barely anyone with millions.
Hey dude! We're actually going to do a lot of research and make sure we pick a good organisation to work with. We are very conscious of the fact that some don't manage their money particularly well. We have some experts we're working with to evaluate! I'm curious though, what organisations would you like to see this go towards?
Essembie (OCE)
: Its frustrating because I get frustrated with my team for a less than good play and overcompensate and end up doing something ten times dumber than the action i was frustrated with my team mate for. 4 weeks ago i was invincible, good streak of solid games, but over the last 2 weeks I've been struggling 1v1 against poros.
Yeah - its really easy to get into that mindset. The reality though, is that you'll tend to make a lot more progress if you focus on getting better at the game. Forget about the end result - the goal here is to get better and improve my skill. Ideally, rank is going to come with that. This is just my perspective though, I'm sure others have some great insight as well.

: If you're learning Gnar, try rushing Blade of the Ruined King in most matchups, or a cleaver or Sunfire for other matchups, or maybe even a Wits End, then after a Blade build into a Sunfire then go cleaver if you need the shred or consider Randuin's or something. He's sustained in ranged form and bursty in Mega Gnar form and tank gnar can survive long enough to do multiple rotations of his Kit in Mega Gnar form although I do miss the high DPS of his Hyper 3rd attack, all in all I love Gnar and think he's really fun and think it's cool that you're practicing him :) Grats on the Job at Riot. I don't really know what to ask though, what kind of things are you working on right now or is that classified information? I'd like to see what you deal with at Riot anyway, is it like working on balancing or what lol I don't really know what a competitive operations manager is. Is that working on preparing tournaments and stuff and coming up with ideas for Riot pro play etc?
That's awesome - thanks so much for the tips on Gnar. That actually helps a lot. As a competitive operation manager my job is mostly just to get shit done. A lot of it is making sure that we have the right resources, we know who is doing what, we know when it needs to be done, etc. It's a lot of project management, but also quite a bit of supporting whatever team needs some additional help. I'm pretty adaptable and end up doing lots of different things for different people :).

: So after games I like to look at the game statistics in the match history and a part of that is looking at the team gold advantage graph, so my problem arises from the fact that I tend to fill which obviously means I play a fair bit of support but as it doesn't show who assists in the kills I find it hard to see where I've actually managed to impact the game. So I feel adding little icons for assists next to the larger kill icon would allow supports to better analyse their games. Does this sound like a good idea or just a meaningless addition which would bring no value?

However, I'm not great at understanding user experiences cases like this (i.e. other than this case where we know it would help us, how would other people use it/how would it make them feel?). I'll ask about this though, as it does intrigue me.

I started working here mostly because I was very inspired by the premise of being player focused. I didn't put a lot of thought into it at the time, but in hindsight its something I've always felt strongly about. 2. Ugh, that was actually the first time I had ever played Poppy so I did SOO horribly. At the time we didn't really do much about letting people know they were going into a game where it was a champ spotlight, so I was like "YEAH PLAYTEST, IM GOING TO LEARN POPPY" - in reality I just fed, haha. It was fun though!

(Sorry I don't understand your job description very well) 2. Do you have any plans to make OCE competitive scene a bigger region with more well known events and stuff? Can you say what they are? 3. Bit of a weird question but... How hard is it to get a job at Riot Games? I'm leaving school soon and it would definitely be cool to work in the gaming industry. 4. Do you know if Riot Games has any plans whatsoever to make a second game? 5. Would it be possible to have some like fun events similar to the URF stuff, where OPL players play with/against NA and EUW players? Just as like a cool publicity and community thing for OCE. Just as like a cool publicity and community thing for OCE. > > Thanks for doing the questions man, I appreciate it :) 1. I actually manage more internal esports stuff. I help to coordinate a lot of our projects that we're working on - OPL, Finals, etc. A lot of time this is helping people to understand what they are trying to accomplish, how best to get there, and putting them in touch with the right people to ensure that they can be successful. I did help a bit on Ocean Week, but that was a team effort, I just helped a bit here and there. 2. We definitely have plans and this is something we think a lot about. A great example of what we're looking to accomplish is actually with our OPL Finals at Luna - it'll be a very unique event, and should be quite fun. A lot of what is going on will bring quite a bit of attention, which is a great step along the way of creating a more competitive scene. 3. It's pretty tough - we're very particular about who we hire. The reality is that when choosing a place to work it's very important to evaluate the company you're working for, just like its important for us to evaluate who we want to hire. If you want to learn more about working at Riot, I highly suggest our website: www.riotgames.com - if you have more specific questions about what your area of study is, etc. I'm happy to chat about that as well. 4. Well, we are called Riot Game(s). We do have an r&d team, but nothing I really know much about. http://www.riotgames.com/articles/20141012/1549/putting-s-riot-games has a little info. 5. This is a great idea - I'll bring it up and see what we can come up with. I think there is a big opportunity for things like this!

I started playing league back in 2009 as one of my friends from Everquest was playing. At the time I was very heavy into wow, but once my roommates started playing I got hooked. I think my first few games I played tank Master Yi, haha Originally I was playing lots of games while I was working in taxes. A friend was working at Riot and I lived near the office. I actually applied on a whim, but after the interview process I was absolutely sold. Everyone was so passionate and cared so much about what they were doing. I accepted right away :). If I had to choose a champion, I would say Ezreal. Easily my most played. He's quite fun.

I suggest you allow your hair to spike over your forehead, as you have a rather large forehead, but you're American so that cannot be helped. You say you play MMO's, do you play FPS trash or P2P games, which is better as it gets rid of garbage players in my dungeons and it allows me to actually get things done instead of healing garbage tanks and garbage DPS who seem to pull less numbers than I do as a healer. P.S: Is that Harry Potter t-shirt? it looks like Draco in a sense I have a manly crush on Tom Felton, I think he's fabulous, I would enjoy to Slytherin right into his bed, nomsain.

I think I see two questions here, so I'll focus on those: 1. I play a bunch of different MMOs, some F2P some P2P. I started early on (with UO and EQ). Nowadays I'm playing WoW, GW2, and Archeage. Though, primarily GW2 as it takes less time than the otheres. 2. Yes - that is a Harry Potter shirt with Tom Felton on it. It says "Mind if I Slyterin?"
