: Update: Looks like something went boom on the OCE server while we were running a scheduled maintenance for the North American LoL server. Not entirely sure why yet. The good news is things *seem* to be recovering, but thankfully our engineering teams are already up and working, so were quickly on the case.
Second/Final Update: Hopefully you are all happily playing URF & ranked again now, as we've re-enabled all queues. If it's still broken for you, please let me know! For a bit more context on what happened (still don't know exactly) - The North America server shares a datacentre with some parts of the Oceania server. On all our servers we usually perform maintenance every couple of weeks at a time that is off-peak for that server's local players (ie. middle of the night / early morning). In this case, we were working on a device that is associated primarily with the NA server, and has previously been worked on with no impact to OCE. Unfortunately this time it did cause impact, so we've got to do some homework now to figure out why now.... Apologies for the interruption to the evenings games :'(

We'll bring it back as soon as we're confident that the service is stable again. I can't give a "for sure" estimate, but our aim is always "as soon as it's safe".

Hi folks Thanks for reporting this. Really a bummer to have this happen on a Friday eh :'( I just want to let you know that Riot are aware of this issue and are working on a fix for it. It is unclear if we'll be able to roll something out tonight at this stage, so it might be something we have to put up with for the evening. Definitely have a look at the workarounds mentioned in the thread to get your games started. Once the lobby is made and in queue, you should be good to go. Cheers! Mindstar

Thanks for asking this - its a really valuable topic as we want you to feel like you can fully engage with new mode, and especially its content, without something in the back of your mind about _what if..._ We're pretty damn excited for it too! The short answer to your question is - we have every intention that TFT will be around to stay. If players don't like it and don't engage with TFT, and for whatever reason it doesn't work out, then our intention is to do right by players that have spent money on the mode. Thanks The support team should be able to help you further, but just to update, we've actually seen the same issues being reported by players who use AVG, not just Avast. In the case that it isn't Antivirus related (it is always possible that you are experiencing something different), it would be worth checking if there is anything else that could be a common theme. For those still experiencing the "can't load in" issue - what ISP are you on? Is it happening every single game still?

: I also don't use avast and I still can't load into any games, even after disabling my PC's antivirus and firewall. It's been 24hrs so far that my game hasn't worked at all.
Really sorry to hear you are still having issues :'( Have you had any luck since the time you posted? There are a few other things it could be, so I'd definitely recommend getting a request in to Player Support, as they will be able to help go through your game logs and figure out what might be wrong. Hi Thanks very much for sharing this and what you heard from the Optus support team. Sometimes there is a bit of confusion when issues like this occur as to where the problem is, which might be why there is a mixed message coming through. I've been monitoring this case closely this afternoon, to make sure that Riot is doing what we can to help. What I've seen is that there are multiple sources indicating that Optus customers are experiencing issues to _many parts_ of the internet, but not everything is down. This is likely why some things work (eg. speed test) and others don't (eg. LoL & some other games). In this case, we have to wait for more updates from Optus, who have not yet provided an ETA for fixing their services. They are providing updates on YesCrowd boards and their Twitter account. In regards to the VPN - we're hoping to provide updates and relevant information so that players can make the best decision for themselves. It is totally OK if you're not comfortable with using one. Greetings! Great questions :) {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-thumbs}} I wanted to work for Riot because I really identify with some of the core values. Being on a team surrounded by passionate people, who aren't afraid to speak their mind is both very challenging and rewarding. More broadly, working on games - especially one like League of Legends - is a dream in that your decisions at work are based on things you really care about. Favourite part for me is definitely seeing all the pieces of a plan come together. Veeeeeeeeeeeeedka, Qualopec and I often work behind the scenes on esport events - think Rift Rivals, MEO/OPL Finals and League of Origin. There is so much work that goes into making sure every detail is thought of - that we can run a show without disruption or problems, and to see it come together and hear a cheering crowd is an incredible feeling. Future of League - I'd love to see the live event and esport aspect continue to grow. Going to see games live is an amazing experience that I hope more people get to have.

This is a pet peeve of mine too, and I agree with you that it doesn't feel right to read about HONOR and COLOR!! There's a reason we've chosen to leave it this way - and that is that our resources here in OCE are only so much. There are so many things that we want to do, but we simply can't do everything. For example, we'd rather explore things like competitions for our local players, working with high schools around the region, and supporting some of the great community groups that exist. We do try and keep things like dates times in the correct format for our region, but so far we've not found an efficient way to also change spellings. Secretly, I hope that someone in the UK office picks this up as I believe they also have the same issue!

: Yasuo's wind wall has the power to stop ults... why is it not yasuo's ult? It also kinda seems unfair that his wall stops underground abilities as well (for example Ornns {{champion:516}} Volcanic Rupture and Nautilus {{champion:111}} R). {{sticker:sg-janna}} Anytime I want to play a champ remotely skill based I have to perma ban yasuo, and whenever there is a yasuo on my team he is chasing kills and throwing the game or feeding his face off in mid lane.
As a Veigar player I know exactly what you mean lol. Its so annoying when you go all in and then he catches your ult with his windwall! Why isn't it his ult? Well tbh I have no idea since I'm not a champ / game play designer (that is a good thing btw). What I will say is that its actually a match-up I enjoy quite a lot - I find that Yas' combo makes it a real challenge to vs. him. You really have to think about the timing of the windwall for when you attack - bait it out and coordinate with your JG on how to beat him. When you do make the play right and it pays off it is really fun.

Update @ 17:10 AEDT We've been monitoring our systems, as well as the third party systems that were affected by congestion for the last hour and we've seen solid signs that things are back to normal. Further Update @ 16:20 AEDT We're still waiting for the upstream provider to take action. The TL;DR here is it appears many ISPs in the region today have been impacted by a backbone provider turning on a new service unexpectedly. The service is presently overloaded, and as a result has seen a lot of unexpected congestion for Australian ISPs. This has taken many by surprise, but some are actively working to route around the congestion point. We are doing what we can to try and get the issue resolved, although it is largely outside of Riot's control at this point. Because of this, we're still keeping ranked offline until we are confident most players will be able to get through champ select without a dodge penalty. Thanks for your understanding. Hi folks Updating this - we're seeing an issue with one of the backbone ISPs between the USA and Australia. It seems to be affecting quite a few things online for the affected people, and we've raised a ticket with them. In the meantime the Riot team are doing what we can to route around the issue (aka - using other ISPs). Unfortunately not all Australian ISPs have multiple routes available, meaning that for some players we have to wait for the backbone ISP to fix their path. I'll update here when we know more. Telstra, Optus, Spark etc) * A Trace Route to the OCE Server You can paste it here, or send it in via a [Player Support](http://support.riotgames.com) ticket **Obtaining a Trace Route** * Press the [Windows Key] (that is the key on the left side of the space bar, between ctrl and alt) + R * Type cmd in the search bar and click "Ok". Hi Pece, It does suck, however we do try and keep this type of maintenance which is split between multiple regions to a minimum. What is key in a decision like this is the spread of time-zones means there really isn't an optimum time for everyone. Unfortunately for this particular work, the regions affected spanned everything from Australia to New York, and we have to take into account players from so many places. EG in this case we had: * AEST / SYDNEY: 10:30pm ranked off, for maintenance until ***5am*** * EST / New York: 8:30am ranked off, for maintenance lasting until ***3pm*** Now, while you could say that its worse to have it start at 10:30pm, what is also factored in is the duration of the maintenance, and the possibility for ongoing problems as a result. Because of this, moving it any later could put the afternoon in NA at risk. I hope this helps explain it a little. If you have any questions let me know! Cheers Mindstar
