: Ranked updates now live
Wouldn't it be nice if Autofill was an option that you could choose to turn on? I don't really care about my queue times because I just watch YouTube while I'm waiting and its just not worth waiting for even a far shorter queue if i'm likely to get support.
: New champion need thoughts. Control two champs Taiyo and Tsuki.
This actually sounds really good and fun to play! NJ Op.
: there isn't an issue with key fragment drop rates. they're not supposed to be common. they're supposed to be rare. if they were common, that means more chests being opened, which means more free shit for you, which means less money for riot. how do people not get that.
We do get it but one of the points that I make is that the better a taste you give people of Hextech crates the more likely they are to spend money on them, economically speaking you want to get potential buyers hooked on the idea of things they could get by buying new Hextech Crates. Buy making it easier for players to earn keys Riot would also earn good publicity as well as potentially making profit in the long run. The exact numbers would come down to market research but my biggest issue with this is that you can spend ages grinding and get something completely useless. This again would benefit Riot if the players knew that they would be getting something of at least the type that they want or at the very least something that holds value.
: why do the guns look like dicks?
Leave it to SoFlo, it was just meant to look derpy because... RP Art T.T

: Has there been any thought/talk about extending the rotating game mode queue in Riot? I think it would be good for the game if it was extended, but that's just one player's opinion.
There are people counting to 8 but 4 upvotes including mine... WutFace

: point is, games are toxic because players are too competetive.
Competitive play is exactly what has kept the current player base. If you were arguing a couple of years ago you would likely have more support regarding casual play but nobody plays a game that has been out for six years casually, people get bored. However normals are way to competetive, people are able to try new things and all that but they get raged at. But if you take Teemo Jg into my ranked matches and don't go 20 and 0... Well... Somebody's gonna have a bad time.

: Yeah but how often do you throw when playing with friends, simply because you're playing with friends? I find myself playing better and having a higher win-rate without my friends.
Then your friends are better than, or around the same skill level as you, the higher you rank up the less likely it is that your friends aren't several leagues below you.
: >During school I am a considerably more casual player and the fact that I cannot get keys to open chests at the rate that I am playing now then I do not see myself earning the keys to keep up to date on my chests when school starts back up. So question how often do you play while your at school? I ask because how the keys are setup is they are based off wins and reset monthly, so even if you can say get a couple of games each weekend during school you should get the upwards limit of what you can get in a month.
Right now the way that I am grinding I am not receiving anywhere near the soft cap of keys, therefore when I am at school and mainly just play on weekends I won't have much hope for actually getting the keys that I need.
: >it could be done in a slightly more mutually beneficial manner Just so we are clear, the benefit for the lower drops for riot is to make the keys look like a worthwhile purchase, as they are sitting there for very little RP. I don't know about you but the idea is for riot to make money.
Right now the incentive for people to buy keys and chests is frustration, as well as the hope to maybe get lucky. The better the taste that Riot gives the playerbase the more likely people are to purchase through hope rather than frustration.

: Hey Summoner The key drop-rate system was not designed like this only for profit, it was designed like this to appeal to casual players. + The whole idea behind Hextech Crafting is to keep people playing. In theory the casual players who aren't very frequent users, might play a few extra games. This makes them far more likely to become medium or hardcore users, who will buy skins and play more. If **Riot** had a linear key drop rate, then we would have a grind-fest where hardcore players have all the cool stuff, and casual players wouldn't really benefit. With our current system a player who plays 1 game a day, might earn the same amount of keys as a players who plays 4. This way **Riot** doesn't loose heavy profits and turn the game in to a grind-fest, while still keeping a strong incentive for casual players to keep coming back. I know it can be frustrating sometimes when they keys just wont come, but please understand that **Riot** has to pay for new content, employees and servers. I hope this cleared things up.
I can very much appreciate what you are saying but the low drop rate is what inadvertently makes it feel like such a grind, at least for me. During school I am a considerably more casual player and the fact that I cannot get keys to open chests at the rate that I am playing now then I do not see myself earning the keys to keep up to date on my chests when school starts back up. This and the fact that despite all of the grinding that it takes to earn a single key, it could be a champion shard is frustrating. Just as earning a skin shard for a champion that you don't own can be frustrating for a newer player who just wants to try all of the different champions in the game. This is the core of my argument and I hope you can at least see the merit in my points just as I can see the merits in what you are suggesting. A possible compromise could be that the drop rate slows down when you have one or chests remaining and only slows severely once you have already earned the same amount of keys as the possible amount of crates that you could earn. Because right now, 30 hours of game play, much of it in Ascension, which was a faster to complete game mode for a single fragment is too much when I still have 3 crates unopened. However as I state here I can very much see the merits of this system for newer players, I have a smurf which I am currently trying to level but the system doesn't feel like it is working for me in that sense either. I believe that the reason behind this is because when I get a skin shard I don't really care about it unless it is for Lucian. And I cannot turn my skin shards into champions. So this has negative affects on both sides of the scale. Thanks for taking time out of your day to view my post and comment but your response feels like it misses the point that I am trying to make. I hope this has allowed you to understand my point of view and the fact that I am not looking at this from just my perspective, I always make it a challenge to view decisions from other peoples perspectives. I can completely understand the points that you describe but I feel like the counterarguments outweigh the current decision from all angles, for hardcore players, casual players and even Riot themselves who stand to be seen in a more possible light while making money at the same time. I thank you for your consideration, Sydannus

: All in all it's still free stuff.
I talk about this at the end, but you are correct at the most basic level. Despite the fact that it could be done in a slightly more mutually beneficial manner it is still better than what we had before.

: Hextech Crafting is now live in Oceania!
Can we please not have duplicates? Especially with champions because many players that have been playing for a while now already have all of the champions and the blue essence is just useless. Either that or you can make it essence in general and allow players to use essence on whatever rather than splitting it between cosmetic and champion essences.

: Announcing the rotating game mode queue
So does this mean it's going to be a different mode each week? Or a randomized playlist with all of them in the table and you get put into one.

: Hey there, The reason we don't currently have these queues enabled fulltime is that expansion of the TT queue would reduce the health of TT, leading to longer queues and eventually less people playing the mode. The same can be said for the Crystal Scar (Dominion). See Sephyre's comment [here](http://boards.oce.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/ZzQR1haM-queue-schedule-updated?comment=00050000) regarding this. > [{quoted}](name=Sephyre,realm=OCE,application-id=Ntey9fRZ,discussion-id=ZzQR1haM,comment-id=00050000,timestamp=2015-09-23T04:11:22.125+0000) > > We regularly evaluate whether we can have it, as we do for all of our queues. This means evaluating having queues on a limited basis, permanent basis, etc. > > I hear you that it would be cool to have it, I know I would be all over it, but it's just about what the numbers make sense to do. > > If we grow to the point of being able to have Ranked TT open, boards will be the first place the news will be posted. The current queue schedule is as follows **On all the time:** * Summoner's Rift 5v5 Normal Blind Pick * Summoner's Rift 5v5 Ranked Draft Pick * ARAM * Co-op vs AI Summoner's Rift (intro/beginner/intermediate) **Twisted Treeline:** * Thursday: 3:00pm - 1:00am AEDT * Friday: 3:00pm - 1:00am AEDT * Saturday: 3:00pm - 1:00am AEDT
TBH I've always wanted a 1vs1 playlist and possibly 1vs1 ranked. I think its something that League could take a leaf out of smite for, although it would have the same affect of splitting player population.

: Hey Sydanus, This is a really cool post. The first thing I would say that going to this much effort and putting yourself out there is really cool. The detail and personalisation you're putting into the application will help you stand out. I also had no idea what the Robocup is and looked it up - seems awesome! Wish that existed when I was at school. Unfortunately though, we don't currently offer work experience positions at Riot OCE. Something you could look into is the internship program in North America. It's for university-age students, but something you could look at in a few years: http://www.riotgames.com/careers
Thanks Sephyre, I knew that I probably wouldn't change any1s mind about the issue but I sincerely thank u for at least reading the post b4 dismissing it out of hand. Guess I'm off to try find some other place to do work experience but I will seriously consider the internship program, despite the fact that it would mean moving to Murica. Thanks again, Sydannus Edit: I feel like I came off as if I was complaining here, I am extremely greatful for every1s support and this was a great experience for me in and of itself as far as my confidence goes. Thank u every1

We aren't expecting a job offer and its free work, the value comes in future circumstances when we make a job application for real. What would you be expecting to learn by doing work experience at riot?
How a video game company operates, whether or not it is a company that I would be interested in attempting to apply at in the future and it helps me know what sort of job I would like to study for in University. That and the fact that the company has been hugely successful, they are clearly doing something right in the way that they run their company and if I could even pick up a small amount of it then it could be hugely influential. That... and I think it would be fun because I like League.

I think you're missing the point here man, 1. I know full well that this is unlikely to work. 2. Work experience is 4-5 days and it is about the EXPERIENCE. We aren't expecting a job offer and its free work, the value comes in future circumstances when we make a job application for real.
: Pretty sure the last few years they've said that they don't take work experience.
I know this, I spend most of the time in this post explaining why it would be a good idea and how I know that being accepted would be extremely unlikely, for the last few years I have been extremely interested in a career working for this company and decided that I might as well give it a shot, despite the odds.

: Yes Please!!! For those who don't want to do the math 20k IP = 1k RP. This seems like a pretty fair conversion rate but the $50 spent requirement does feel a little bit mean. Keep in mind that IP takes a long time to earn for most players so this would realistically be pretty fair without the requirements.
Y was i logged into NA?! *-*

: They should have two ARAM skins, 1:Normal Freljord 2:Bildgewater and you can choose which one or you can buy it in the shop maybe
Man, when I play ARAM it's 'cuz I want to hop into a quick, fun game. I don't want the longer queue times that come with 2 different queues. As 'LadyLuxanna' suggested, I would prefer it to randomly select the map. :){{item:1076}}
