: if i submit another entry in the same category, does it replace the one i already sent
No. It will disqualify you because it goes against the contest rules, "You can only enter each category once (Pro Plays & Not So Pro Plays)". If we didn't do this, it would open up all players to submit an unlimited number of entries since it would just be "replaced".
: can i compile multiple similar plays from the same game?
No, this would involve using a video editor to compile the plays, which goes against the contest rules.
Oriphix (OCE)
: What if you play royalty free music can you submit the game play from that? Or do you only want the game music?
We want to see your gameplay in its purest form, therefore just gameplay music.
Edo (OCE)
: Uhm so i changed my name recently can i still enter?
If your replay makes the judging shortlist, we will be verifying your account's summoner name history to ensure that it is your gameplay.
: Ok, thank you! I managed to get it on YouTube though :) Did you receive my submission? I'm not sure if there's anyway I can check if it's gone through. {{champion:99}}
When you submitted your entry, you should have seen a message in the refreshed page saying we received it.. Can also confirm we received your entry :)
: So I cant add any audio but I can remove the original audio? Also, how does this work with streams that only have music playing with no game sounds? Do we still remove the audio if it was a part of stream?
No "out of game" music playing. We don't want Gragas, Esq. writing us any cease and desist letters!
Odi (OCE)
: Hey rito, I disabled the in-game volume for my replay, except for the announcer and ping sounds (because I like to listen to music in the background), but I forgot to turn them back on when recording the replay. Is this gonna make my submission invalid?
: Question: The replay I downloaded has terrible audio (weird noises). I wish to replace the audio to something which is reasonable. The guidelines do not allow any edit of the video. Can I edit the audio?
You have the option of removing the audio, but your gameplay will be at a disadvantage.
Shashe (OCE)
: Every time I try to save the replay in the client, it crashes. Am I allowed to record the replay using a third-party programs like OBS?
As long as you're meeting the contest rules, that is fine.
Arashi (OCE)
: It meets all the requirements but isn't on youtube.
As long as it's uploaded online where we can easily access it (public), that is fine. But it's recommended that you upload to YouTube.
Lysaaer (OCE)
: sorry for the spam did you get this submission?
: Can we post multiple clips? For example two 'Pro plays' clips or one 'Pro plays' and one 'Not so pro play'
As per the contest rules, "You can only enter each category once (Pro Plays & Not So Pro Plays)".
: Hello, if we are unable to upload a file from YouTube, is there another way to send a Replay in? And if so, how?
You can choose another video sharing platform/website. But YouTube is recommended.
Jerey (OCE)
: What if the footage is taken from my stream? Does it HAVE TO be in replay format? If my own live commentary is in there will it be okay? (Taken from stream)
As long as it meets the contest rules, then it will be counted as a valid entry. So if it's taken from your stream, does it meet this rule, "Your entry can't include any logos, advertisements, product names, or product placements; we don't want Gragas, Esq. writing us any cease and desist letters!"? If you have live commentary with it, that is ok, but note that it could leave your entry at a disadvantage if it distracts from the gameplay itself. Just as not having gameplay sound would leave an entry at a disadvantage. It is up to you. Note that it is only one entry per category. So make it count!
niss2 (OCE)
: What if the account in the clip is now banned?
agent1322 (OCE)
: i have the same issue as my replay has been edited in slow motion from the league replay system will i need to re-edit that sequence in the video at normal speed?
We want to see your gameplay in its purest form. No slow motion etc.
Zorro (OCE)
: I still made the play but the enemy just did something a bit dumb. So I was just wondering if it'd go under pro plays or not so pro plays.{{sticker:galio-happy}}
I think it's best to just ask your friends which category they think it fits in, and go with that :)
Lysaaer (OCE)
: My Pro Play :) is it worthy of a Submission https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwBhOCHNJzA
: Would you be able to check if you got my replay? Thanks
: I edit the end of the video with slow motion but the start runs throught the play normal would it count. Its just not as funny in normal play. https://youtu.be/TFpmO4ChpL0
We want to see your gameplay in its purest form. Therefore any edits will be considered an invalid entry.
Botato (OCE)
: What if we recently had our summoner name changed and the replay shows a former summoner name of mine?
If your replay makes the judging shortlist, we will be verifying your account's summoner name history to ensure that it is your gameplay.
Arashi (OCE)
: Can i upload my playsTV for submission? Cause I can't access replay files anymore :(
: I just had a quick question about the replay. I've got a replay that I want to submit but in the recording I skip a bit of the video to show what I've wanted to show. I don't have the original replay anymore so I can't rerecord the play. Should i leave the video as a whole or cut it out?
I'm not sure if I understand. You say you skipped a bit, and that you don't have the original. But then you ask if you should leave the whole video or cut it out :? I'm confused. The first part says you don't have the original, while the second part sounds like you do? {{sticker:sg-janna}}
: I have several tasty treats, but out of respect for my fellow summoners I turn off names... also like in Fincher's Facebook movie... when the Napster guy tells Zucks that losing the "The" is cleaner... I also find playing without names much cleaner... BUT because the ones I think are worthy are from last season... I wont be able to do the whole Summoner Name thingy... What should I do... as video editing my summoner name onto my play appears to be out of the question. {{sticker:sg-janna}}
For this contest, you will need to clearly have your Summoner Name displayed. You have 3 weeks to make a Pro or Not so pro play for this contest. I believe in you! {{sticker:slayer-jinx-catface}}

: Star Guardian 2017 Fanwork Contest - Winners!
This was the first time we've done an open ended contest, and it was so cool to see everyone's creativity come through in a medium they were passionate in. Thank you for sharing this with us <3 {{sticker:sg-jinx}}

I'm keen to see all the #OCEBIGPLAYS xD
Zorro (OCE)
: I have a question, I have a clip saved on my account from back in 2016 but the funny thing was what the enemy did to me (or didn't do to me) which category would I put this clip under? {{sticker:sg-poppy}}
This is about YOU showcasing YOUR gameplay :) So if it meets that and the other contest rules, then you're good to enter. If it's someone else's play and you were a "spectator" of it since you were in the same game, we do not consider that as your replay/gameplay.
: If the play included another person or another person participating in the play, is it still okay to use it? {{champion:64}} {{champion:223}} ({{champion:245}})
This is about YOU showcasing YOUR gameplay :) So if it meets that and the other contest rules, then you're good to enter. If it's someone else's play and you were a "spectator" of it since you were in the same game, we do not consider that as your replay/gameplay.
: So does it count if i had change my name?
If your replay makes the judging shortlist, we will be verifying your account's summoner name history to ensure that it is your gameplay.
: Can it be a highlight clip from before? or must it be a clip during this contest's submission period?
Yes, it can be a highlight clip that you have saved.
Caelestia (OCE)
: Ideas: One big 10 min long youtube video Gallery like you guys do with fanart and promote it in client
: What if I use custom skins, or have changed my voice pack to a different language? Would that still be a valid replay?
We consider this as a modification and therefore an invalid entry.
D0T (OCE)
: Are we allowed to have a simple edit of two clips together of the same game? (hint: double penta)
We are looking for one play, therefore your entry must not be modified in any way with a video editor.
: "Your entry must clearly show your Summoner Name in the video footage (same as the one you are submitting in the entry form)." Does this mean that my plays from before my recent name change are automatically invalid?
If your replay makes the judging shortlist, we will be verifying your account's summoner name history to ensure that it is your gameplay.
: Does it matter how old the video is ? Because i have a good thresh hook that might have a run for its money but it was done at least a year ago
If it meets the contest rules, give it a go! One entry per category, so make sure it counts.
CoIdflay (OCE)
: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZoQkjMZpJA&feature=youtu.be My pro submission, give me your thoughts
Nice penta :) If this is your entry, be sure to submit it via the [submission form](http://woobox.com/zcmuq6) if you haven't already.
WolfyLoL (OCE)
: I played in a sumsoc torunament that was tournament draft can i use that ?
It has to be a matchmade game through the client.
: I have a question... In my video I have my old name 'MrStealYourDrag', if my name has changed since then is it still a viable submission?
If your replay makes the judging shortlist, we will be verifying your account's summoner name history to ensure that it is your gameplay.
Jaya (OCE)
: These competition rules discriminate against those of us who who disable in-game sound (in my case for performance reasons). I cannot enter this competition because all of my replays are silent. {{sticker:zombie-nunu-bummed}}
You have 4 weeks to submit a replay. Since you play without in-game sound, you could mute your computer sounds (turn the volume to 0) so it doesn't affect your replay.
Fitzky (OCE)
: When you say it can't be modified, does that include music over the top of it?
Lysaaer (OCE)
: so if i have 10 plays i can put them into one video and submit it?
That does not meet the contest rules. You have modified your entry with a video editor by putting them into one video.
Seany770 (OCE)
: My play was recorded with plays.tv and it has a watermark in the bottom corner, does that mean that i am not able to use it?
: What if you have had a name change? I have a heap of good highlights stored but they are under my former name. Do you guys have a way of knowing it was still me?
If your replay makes the judging shortlist, we will be verifying your account's summoner name history to ensure that it is your gameplay.
Tomo7 (OCE)
: I have a mean as play from 8 months ago, that allowed? would suck if it wasn't
If it meets the contest rules, we will accept it.
0o KEV o0 (OCE)
: I've got a couple questions here: Dose it have to be recorded by using the highlight feature in game? Can i use other software to record my play? If so, is there any specifications to the HUD interface? (score broad toggle and etc.) Also for the replay quality, what should i aim for? What's the minimum requirement? Last and for all, if i have two accounts and submitted one play for each account, could i use the same email address for both accounts' submissions?
As long as you're not modifying the gameplay in some way (e.g. editing it, putting in slow motion etc) we don't mind what tool you use to record your gameplay. Please note the other contest rules though (e.g. no logos, must clearly show your summoner name in the gameplay, must be your gameplay etc). We want to see your gameplay in its purest form. Therefore any edits will be considered an invalid entry. There are no specifics for the HUD display. If it's at least the same video quality as the Replays & Highlights feature in the client, then you're good. Any lower and you compromise the ability for us to read the play. One entry per category per person. Therefore by your description, you would have entered multiple times per category.
: Is it ok if I submitted two of the same play??? Because the first one didn't have any name tags. Sorry!! {{sticker:zombie-brand-facepalm}}
Since they are the exact same play. I will accept your entry. I assume you entered as Darkhorse37?
: I've got a month to make a 'faker play' on Janna :) Can't wait for you all to see it :D Time to flash and go in for an insec on Janna xDD (in ranked ofc ^.^). GL to everyone !!! I can't wait to see your cool plays :DD P.s @Riot, can we view other peoples entries for the 'PogChamp' reactions or the 'BOOSTED' plays :?
Can't wait to see that Janna play xD We haven't decided on how we'll showcase the entries outside of the winners. Do you have any suggestions?
Paddatjie (OCE)
: So using the slow-mo and speed up feature inside of the replay is not allowed?
We want to see your replays in its purest form; no editing (slow motion or speed up). It should be able to stand on its own without that type of manipulation.
Vasalkar (OCE)
: If I have a replay of me 1v5ing the entire enemy team in a norms as they attempt to 5v1 me, and i get a penta off of it due to their... let's just say inability... would that be a pro play or not so pro play? I myself feel like it'd be the latter, because I cringed every single moment of it. .3. Not saying anyone could do what I did there, but saying it was pretty easy for me, playing my main. >.>
How about your ask your friends or the community which category they think it falls under :)
: Does the highlight become ineligible for the contest if most of the interface (score, items, team health, etc.) is toggled off?
If the video isn't modified by a video editor, it is a valid entry (as long as it meets the other contest rules) :)
