: Get Good
Yeah I have to make a call. I'll sign into League here and there to play some ARAM with some friends, but won't be playing Rift, ranked, or watching eSports as I have been. I'll check back regularly to see: * If URF is made available close to its original form, if not better, and made available more often, if not permanently * Runes / balance are fixed so the game has more strategy, depth, potential for comebacks, no cheese, and isn't like playing dark souls in the laning phase. I want challenging, intense games, that are impacted by several decisions and mechanics at all times of a game, and feeling that i can impact every game and get good, and that my influence can win the majority of games. * Riot shows more evidence of listening to what players _really_ want, and are focused at its core on games that connect with gamers, that kick ass * Changes are well thought out, have a direction and meaning, and aren't just made because of a culture of innovation and change for its own sake, or because some staff at Riot are bulls in a China shop who like to wing things and because they think change is cool without enough thought put into what they're doing, or their end goal (which should be making a kick ass game that connects with players, and naturally monetises) * There's no other political statements, or social justice messages coming from league / riot. Keep it all the fuck out. Ocean week, giving to charity isn't a bad thing though. * hextech changes and loot boxes die a horrible (or wonderful and desirable) death. Make the game fun and desirable to play over and over again by making the game awesome, and make great content that people want to buy (which admittedly is still the case). Addictive monetisation and gambling methods are pretty dishonest. * There's less copying of the Overwatch system, which has a lot of the shit you've taken on, without the gameplay issues or terribly though out changes, or the lack of availability of their URF equivalent (or the All Randomness) I'm pretty devastated - I want my game back, or rather don't want the crap that **_is_** now. Surely I'm speaking on behalf of the majority of the player base on this. {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-thumbs}}

You don't have to adapt to change for changes sake, or treat all change as positive. Nor is disagreeing with a change necessarily a bad thing. Change does sometimes require a response however and uninstalling and leaving this game is a viable option. Also I think the reasons for the changes to league are questionable.

None of my favourite champs are on the list :( Still enjoy the game mode, but disappointed how diluted URF is this time around. Unlocking all champs would be a start, and removing the random would be better (or include URF and ARURF - I’ll head to ARURF when I’m over OP/same picks every game). Cmon ppl, for the players!

: How do you counter siege comps on Legend of the Poro king?
1. Ban champions (Caitlin, Ziggs come to mind) 2. Pick poke / siege champs 3. Get some strong engage 4. Dodge poros, hit yours (ie: get good) 5. Play around your power spikes, particularly mid game if you have tanks. Get some early sustain (runes, refillables, the 950 dorans shield alt item) 6. Get wave clear. ADCs runanns and statik. Mages such as orianna and sandra (which are great in team fights also, thus good in howling abyss)

: Why am i bad?
I've been able to make it to silver this season, and will aim for gold next season. * Have a small pool of (good / in meta) champions an spam them. 2 champs if possible, 1 that can be played in your off role (for me that's Corki and Ekko). Focus on 2 roles. Champs that are less team reliant, don't depend so much on good positioning are useful. That makes adc difficult somewhat. Also important that you enjoy playing them. * You're going to have teams and players, particularly in bronze 2 and 1, that go off by themselves without vision, play aggressively, and get caught out. Always check what your team's doing and be nearby to make terrible plays work * Learning to win lane, make early advantages, and snowball them, and doing this often can be really effective * Need to get better at last hitting. This will come with time, but you can actively practise it too. * Spam ranked. Good chance you'll finish bronze this season. Yes you care about your rank, however you need experience playing ranked to improve. Ranked is very different, and you get punished a lot more for your mistakes. Flex isn't too bad and you can play there if you have to. * Learn mindfulness / third space - resilience to tilt, and the ability to focus on the game and your next play * /mute all. Be friendly in chat. Ping when summoners are used. Comms your next play. Use pings. Like me you're playing catch up by the looks. I started late season 5 and have had to acquire the game knowledge and skills to be able to climb. There are a lot of people who have been playing for longer than you and you need to surpass / improve more than they have in the time they've been / are playing. Focusing on a few champs that aren't team reliant can get you good at some mechanics, and allow you to focus more on your next play, awareness, vision, and being useful to your team. You improve MUCH faster when you play ranked. Main thing I see is that you play WAY too many champions and roles (something I've done in the past too). Also watch the 'chase your legend' vids: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lol+chase+your+legend Summary of these: - What's your goal / ambition when you play? Get to high elo? Use it as a tool - It's going to take a lot of work to reach your goal. Practise and get good - Learn to become tilt proof, and have the resilience to shrug of the tilt and focus on your goal Probs more stuff but this is getting long.

Have played draft pick a few times now. I really miss it when it's not up.
: Small Rant
ADCs are rather team reliant for protection. You could try some picks with more safety and/or lane bully snowball potential like Tristana, lucian, ezreal, corki.

: I've just made it into Silver. Bronze 1 was quite hard to get out of at first, I had to adapt my play style to being more aggressive, dominating my lane, roaming, objectives etc. My champ pool was culled significantly, and playing one champ in particular, and I was feeling a lot more comfortable with my mechanics and was able to focus on how to adapt my game to win it. I was writing down mistakes as I made them and how to improve, and would practice new habits to counter them (eg: safer recalling, safer pathing if i got caught out). Playing safe and steady, or getting ahead and not roaming was less successful, as lanes would feed and bleed into my lane, and suddenly the game snowballs in the enemy teams favour. playing adc was less successful, for one i'm less familiar with the role, and second you have less influence on other lanes unless you win yours (which is difficult if your support misplays, or is just terrible). Would be interesting to see what happens if I were to climb further - would I still need to hard carry games, or could I sit back safe on a scaling champ and rely on them more? Probably less so - situational.

HUGE fan of this decision
: Bronze 1 Looking For Duo
Just added you. I'm bronze 1, mid laner main.
: I think you've come to some good conclusions, especially when you talk about dealing with smurfs, trolls, feeders, etc. Consistency is key to climbing. Play one good game and end up feeding because you're too cocky in the next and you'll go nowhere. I agree with many of your ideas. However, pointing out someone's mistake (particularly in low elo) will generally upset and/or aggravate the person you are criticizing. Even if that is not your intention. From my experience, people in bronze believe they deserve a significantly higher rank, and as a result, they do not take kindly to any form of criticism. I used to have this mentality back in season 4 (and a bit of season 5). I felt that anyone trying to help me out were either attacking me for my decisions or too stupid to understand what I was doing. As a result, I ignored everyone or flamed them. Needless to say, I was hardstuck low bronze. After changing my mentality and focusing on self-improvement, I climbed out of bronze and am currently gaining 25-30LP for wins in silver 5. I am still very bad at the game, especially when compared to people in higher elo. However, I love the idea of helping someone else out of a situation I found myself in not too long ago. If everyone can have this mentality and want to improve their skills, rather than blaming everything on everyone else, League would be a much less stressful and significantly better game because of it. One must also keep in mind that solo/duo is about getting 3-4 random people to work together. This can be frustrating when everyone wants to play some kind of carry champ and not many people want to allow themselves to get carried. For example, many people do not enjoy playing tanks. Some people prefer playing carry laners/junglers. If a team needs a frontline, but the last people to pick don't enjoy playing tanks, they most likely will not pick a tank or would underperform because they're playing something they're unfamiliar with. Another key thing is to not believe that a game is over just because you don't have a tank or don't have much CC or whatever the problem may be. Especially in low elo, anything can happen. I have lost many games against full AD comps because people on my team didn't understand that building armour will make their damage almost completely negligible. The last bit of advice I have is that you just keep on playing. The more you play, the more you consciously try to learn from every game, the more you will improve. Learning and applying what you learn in your next games is vital to climbing. As long as you remain in that mentality and don't tilt, you should just keep playing. Never play while tilted. You can fall into the trap of becoming overaggressive or just make mistakes in general because you're not focusing enough. I always have other activities for myself if I decide I'm too tilted to continue playing. I can do some push-ups, punch my punching bag, load up another game that isn't as frustrating and is generally something simple that can calm me down. Anything to get me out of that mindset and allow me to vent my frustration. My apologies for the wall of text, but I feel that you might appreciate it based on how much detail and effort you put into your post. Feel free to reply if you disagree with anything I've put forward
Appreciate this, particularly around being mindful of how sensitive people are in bronze to criticism.

: Zed
Certainly has a lot of strengths - energy, damage/lethality, mobility, duels, splitting, outplay potential. Find it's hard to hyper carry with him if your team is mediocre, particularly late - they can just buy guardians angels and focus you.
: Reports do nothing, only for verbal abuse etc. Someone.... anyone please show me or tell me about an instance of someone getting banned for intent feeding (apart from Tyler1 douches). It NEVER happens and if it does it's so rare that it makes reporting essentially a waste of time. Over the years I've reported intent feeders who blatantly run it down mid lane, purchase 5 mobo boots etc etc and not one has ever been banned ever! The ones I report are still playing to this day and from their game history haven't changed. Riot simply want to gag players and stop them from lashing out at the real people who ruin this game. They simply don't care that 1 person can ruin a game for 4 others as long as you refrain from abusing them. I mean if they really banned people intent feeding and griefing the player base on the OCE server would be pathetically low and in return so would skin sales etc. Less people playing the game means less sales. And for a ftp game EVERYTHING is based on micro transactions. Personally based off my own games I think there is little or nothing they can do about the OCE server without seriously culling the player base. Majority of games are I play these days are filled with toxic, intent feeding and griefing players. People cottoned on that there is no tribunal and little chance of actually getting punished (unless you verbally abuse someone) and now pretty much do as they please. We've all had games where someone gets salty and sits in the jungle the entire game whilst you lose your nexus. Or the guy who gets annoyed when he gets outplayed and then constantly tries to 1v5 knowing damn well he's not going to survive. It's people like this who understand the system and it's lack of ability to pickup on their actions so they abuse it to their advantage.
I've had notifications of players being banned in the client, in which I've contributed reports to. The notifications are random due to privacy concerns. There may not be immediate results from reporting, but it does contribute and help - even if it doesn't there's an opportunity for the report to help. Riot incentives around money, sales, and lack of bans etc are speculations from incomplete data. I'd give the benefit of the doubt to say they don't want toxic players in the game as it drives people away, and they're investing in the honour system. Perhaps some more constructive feedback to Riot will help, rather than assumptions, accusations and venting.
: Toxicity increasing in OCE
New honour system is a step forward. Always report. Play with friends and people you know, or use this board site to team up with likeminded people to minimise impact (get good friends and be a good friend). Trolls on their side is freelo then. Don't assume your perfect, and don't get heated in games (side note: saying the community has mental issues may not make you summoner of the year). Don't retaliate, but work to win games. Instalockers - not bad to take the position you called as conceding let's people get away with it / encourages the behaviour. Try to win people back from bad behaviour and trolling, mention it's unacceptable perhaps. /mute all if you can't do the above If your not enjoying the game and are too triggered perhaps not playing as your doing is a good option.

Next patch! ARURF though
: Should I try to learn Zed and or Yasuo?
Yasuo is getting reworked. Both are banned a lot (yasuo lower elo). Lethality is strong at the moment which factors zed. Yasuo is the most popular champ, and is overplayed. Apart from that I personally enjoy zed more. Most importantly you have to enjoy playing them, and like their style/kit

Talon12 (OCE)
: He suffers in high elo because he is very easy to shut down and prevent from getting anywhere. Yes its true, he snowballs very well, buy is so damn easy to deny him that snowball. Around 90% of common toplaners counter yasuo, and around 60% of the in meta mid laners also have advantages over him. Yasuo is also really susceptible to ganks at all stages of the game, atm he is all about those 1v1s, anything more than that destorys him more often than not, "but he is made to 1v5, I've seen him get like 1v5 3 pentas in a game". I'll correct you on that, you have seen a fed yasuo complete 5 successive 1v1s in a row for his pentas and that is all there is to it, 92% of yasuo's "1v5" pentas are from multiple 1v1 fights in a row, of which they are either supremely fed or you all stuffed up your plays really hard. He fails in high elo because people have realised "oh wait, every form of cc makes hi dashes useless, and he has abysmal early gamer stats and base damage!" Early game champions shut down a yasuo extremely hard. So do all champions with reliable cc and damage steroids. The "tank" yasuo builds have all been to counter his crap base stats. Come on, his highest base damage is 1/3 the average of other champions, support champions actually have more base damages than he does, he just has high scaling. A yasuo denied gold or is zoned in anyway is usually useless for the rest of the game, "but he will just farm and destroy us later" you say? Well good for you, he is also extremely easy to prevent farming, as i said, shit stats and 100% item reliant, so just keep his lane occupied and he cant do anything farm wise, and if he goes to another lane to try farm, chances are the laners there will try take it over him anyway, in turn helping you prevent him doing anything. High elo players also usually have a nice rule of "if its a yasuo gank him by 4 min then every 3 min after" rule, and that really shuts him up. He becomes really easy to dive and after 3 deaths and will offer literally nothing in teamfights. His "strengths" also really work against him, his "oh no super broken infinite dashes" have a 10 sec static cd, and more often than not will place him in a bad spot where he is easy to punish. Champs with ranked poke spells (yes ranged) easily shut him up too, as was mentioned you can poke out his shield, and when thats down, the lane gets fun, he either zones himself or he takes a load of poke from your range, ranged laners are actually a huge pain for him because he never has a shield, and taking deathfire touch and using a spell on him just before his shield stacks will either force him to waste w, where you can chuck shit at him for 40 sec or he can zone himself more, or you pop his shield with like 4 damage from the burn, also a win. Letting him aa you can also work to your advantage if you have a reliable cc, you let him hit you, which draws a lot of minion aggro, which then destroy him while he dashes around in minions after the cc losing an average of 30% hp, always funny to watch. You may think playing safe against a yasuo is the best idea, but more often than not thats what low elo people do, they then get punished for it, constantly harassing a yasuo more often than not will win you fights, due to his extremely squishy nature. After harassing him you then freeze lane, wandering around his minions as to zone him, a 1/2 hp yasuo won't dream of going near something double his hp during laning, especially when it has cc, this is why shit like darius, renekton, annie, lissandra, panth, irelia and things like that zone him and win so much, he is **THE MOST** cc susceptible champion in the game, a slow like or an aa speed reduction are more than enough to screw him over, thus why champs like malphite and tryndamere also destroy him in lane. Silences and dots again, destroy him, thus swain and malzahar. Any form of cc will cause a yasuo great pain, the problem with low elo, is that they are too scaled of his **STRENGTHS** they completely forget about his massive amounts of weaknesses and pass the off as non existent, scaring themselves into a corner and letting him scale. **THAT** is why is is strong in low elo.
Appreciate this. I think his damage is reasonable early game however. A good ult and Q, or windwall at the right time can put the enemy team at a disadvantage, or get them slain. Agree that you can't turtle against him in lane or you can let him get ahead. Low ELO can be variable with the types of jg you get, and people don't keep track of where he's at, and can be much more uncoordinated. I've noticed his malz winrate is abysmal. I'm finding mages difficult at the moment though with divers, skirmishers, and adcs being strong.

Mute the enemy team always. If someone grieves you on your team mute them straight away. Focus on playing the game well and be alert and in the moment for what you're doing now and what you're going to do next. Swallow your pride, assess your mistakes and have a mindset of improvement. You can't win every game, and you will have issues on your team in some games (afks , trolls, inting). Ward, ping what you see on the map, Comms when someone flashes/uses summoner or uses their ult. Be an emotional support for your team / friendly and encouraging rather than flaming or tilting. Never give up (won last game with an afk 4v5). Have fun - that's the purpose of the game!
